**Bus Driver**

The primary purpose of the Bus Driver is to transport residents, staff, and volunteers to desired destinations using the facility vehicle. This position is part time during the day. Some long trips are required.

**Bus Driver **Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Performs miscellaneous errands, such as carrying mail to and from the post office, transporting patients to doctor’s offices and other activities, and driving employees to preferred providers for emergency treatment
- Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required
- Ensures protected health information is kept confidential
- Reports complaints made by residents to supervisor
- Follows established safety policies and procedures
- Observes safety needs of residents as indicated in care plan
- Attends and participates in scheduled in-service training, educational classes and meetings
- Other duties as assigned

**Bus Driver Education and Experience Requirements**:

- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Previous chauffeur’s experience preferred
- Current operator’s license required; Chauffeur’s license may be required by state law

**Bus Driver **Physical Demands**:

- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Must be able to push, pull move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
- Ability to lift 50 pounds with frequent sitting and operating of hand and foot controls
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
