**Responsibilities**:
Assess risk in proposals and recommendations, and advise project managers and staff

Direct and prepare proposals, investigations, and design level reports for a variety of projects.

Direct and lead construction material testing services, including earthwork observation and special inspections

Mentor and supervise junior geologists and foster their professional development.

Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and governmental personnel, ensuring that all geotechnical concerns are addressed comprehensively.

Direct and supervise subsurface explorations, laboratory testing, geotechnical data interpretation, and geotechnical instrumentation monitoring programs to ensure a high-quality, timely, and within-budget delivery of the projects.

Provide support for business development activities by fostering and maintaining long-term client relationships and developing a client base for providing high-level geotechnical engineering services.

Play an active role in professional associations and contribute to the state-of-practice and research of engineering geology through technical presentations and publications.

**Compensation**:
$140K - $185K Annual Salary

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

**Minimum Requirements**:
Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Engineering Geology.

Minimum 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering practice with an emphasis on geotechnical design projects, geotechnical field investigation, and construction supervision.

Experience and familiarity with the local geology and local engineering practice required.

**Technical Requirements**:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working

Experience in construction oversight for foundation construction and earthwork observation required.

Demonstrated ability to lead geotechnical projects and manage teams of geologists and geotechnical engineers.

Experience in engineering geology methods that assist in the development of shallow and deep foundation design recommendations, liquefaction analysis, slope stability analysis, ground improvement, wall design and retaining structures, grading/earthwork, and soil and construction materials testing

Experience in managing and performing geotechnical investigations, landslide investigations, and fault investigations

Ability to perform technical reviews of geologic hazard and geotechnical reports prepared by professional staff

Working knowledge of reviewing geotechnical computer software results

**Other miscellaneous qualities**:
Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record

Must be able to pass a background check
