This full-time position supervises the work of the Technical Services department ensuring timely ordering,

receiving, cataloging, and processing of material for the Chester County Library and the Henrietta Hankin Branch.

The position is responsible for overall Collection Development guidance at the Chester County Library and the

Henrietta Hankin Branch with some individual direct area responsibilities. Chester County Library System

collection responsibilities include, the Rotating Reads (lease) plan and maintaining the accuracy, currency, and

completeness of the online catalog.

This position requires an ALA accredited Master’s degree in Library Science, an ability to obtain a Pennsylvania
Professional Librarian Certification, and at least four years of job-related experience, including collection

development and supervision. Knowledge of national cataloging standards and general library technology are

preferred. The person in this position must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong

time management skills.

All library positions require the following criminal background and child abuse clearances: Report of criminal

history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP); Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human

Services (Child Abuse); and Fingerprint based federal criminal history submitted through the Pennsylvania State

Police or its authorized agent (FBI).

$65,854.88; full County Benefits, EOE
