**Environmental Technician**

Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an Environmental Technician**.** You will join a team as dedicated to your career as you are. This highly motivated, detail-oriented, customer service-focused individual will be responsible for** **working on site for the client by helping them manage their hazardous waste programs.***

This position reports to the Operations Manager and this role reports to a Life Science client in Cambridge, MA.

**Essential responsibilities and duties include**:
**Technical**:

- Maintain good attendance and punctuality
- Participate in and complete Triumvirate's on-boarding and Safety Training Development Program
- Conduct safety equipment and hazardous waste inspections
- Regularly prepare chemical waste for shipment and disposal, including creation of all federal/state waste documents and managing the paperwork for the material. You are responsible for following any applicable state and federal regulations [Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) & Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations]
- Develop understanding of OSHA regulations as well as Triumvirate's Health and Safety practices

**Hands-on**:

- Handle chemicals and hazardous waste in small and large containers
- Transport waste through client facility from short term storage area to long term storage area
- Manage and provide customer feedback on compliance of both short term and long term waste storage areas
- Willingness to wear a respirator approx. for 1-2 hours per week
- Spill response measures, including assessment of the spills and potentially leading the cleanup efforts

**Customer Service**:

- Provide clients with high-quality and professional customer service
- Professional attitude, high energy, and high-level communication skills required when dealing directly with client representatives

**Required qualifications**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Basic knowledge of, or interest in, the hazardous waste field
- 1+ years of customer service experience
- Self-motivated person with the desire to learn
- Successful completion of OSHA/DOT physical examination which includes drug and alcohol screening
- Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds
- This is a Safety Sensitive Position

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Previous warehouse and or chemical handling experience preferred
- Valid driver's license
- 1-2 years of hazardous waste industry experience
