- UNITED AUTO WORKERS (UAW)This position requires a current, valid teaching certificate issued and endorsed by the Michigan Department of Education. The teacher is a manager of prisoners in the classroom. Teacher must utilize established instructional practices to address the academic needs of all prisoners assigned to the class at the ABE, Pre-GED and GED educational levels. Teachers will coordinate required assessment testing of students and complete all mandated reports in a timely manner. This teacher will oversee the Pre-Release programming for the facility and will be responsible for keeping instruction and resources in alignment with the departmental Re-Entry program. This is a covered position and is located behind the secure perimeter of a correctional facility. This position may also involve performing duties at multiple facilities, as well as varying hours and days.
