- Administering medication and using medical equipment under the direction of a surgeon
- Overseeing the safe, effective, and efficient care of patients in the operating room by sterilizing equipment, preparing rooms, and assessing patients before and after surgery
- Participating as a team member to support the total perioperative process
- Keeping good records and maintaining patients’ charts
- Using basic math skills adequate for dosage calculations
- Working with surgeons, medical/surgical nurses and post-acute caregivers to create comprehensive patient care from pre
- to post-op
- Performing defibrillator testing
- Processing intake for patients
- Cross-training in both Pre-Op/PACU
- Correlates clinical data with patient’s medical condition
- Sets priorities, and anticipates the needs of the case, surgeon, and patient
- Participates in room turnover, assisting the team where needed for safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Functioning as a patient advocate and maintaining patients’ dignity and privacy
- Participates as a team member to support the total perioperative process.

**Education Required**:

- CA RN License (Unrestricted)

**Experience Required**:

- At least two years acute care Hospital Operating Room experience
- Must have excellent Safety, Quality, Infection Control, Risk Management Skills
- Excellent phone etiquette required
- Competent MS Word, and basic Excel
- At least 2 years acute care, pre-op, PACU or Critical Care experience
- 1 year critical care or emergency experience is a must
- Ability to work within the team, has good language and writing skills, communicates well with the entire surgical team, patients, and families

**Experience Preferred.**
- Experience in Spine, Ortho, Brain, and Pain Procedures preferred.
- SPD experience a plus.
- Experience in Pre-Op / PACU a plus.
- Bilingual is a plus.

**License and Certification Required**:

- BLS
- ACLS

**License and Certification Desired**:

- PALS

**Position Reports to**:

- OR Manager, Facility Manager and Administrator

**Salary**:

- $55.00-$65.00 per hour, DOE.

Physical Requirements: Good visual acuity, accurate color vision. Ability to lift / transfer patients more than 100 pounds, which may require pushing, pulling, and essentially utilizing a full range of body movement. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and / or crawl. Ability to reach, grasp, use fine finger movement and feel fine sensation to discern temperature, texture, size, and shape. Ability to speak and hear.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Per diem

Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
