Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing Clerk to join our team. As a Billing Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately processing and managing financial transactions, ensuring timely billing, and maintaining accurate records. This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work with numbers and financial data.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and process invoices for billing
- Review and verify accuracy of billing data and resolve any discrepancies
- Analyze financial documents to ensure proper coding and classification
- Maintain customer accounts by updating billing information and resolving any issues or disputes
- Prepare account statements, reports, and other financial documents as needed
- Assist with account analysis and reconciliation
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely billing
- Communicate with customers regarding billing inquiries or issues
- Follow up on outstanding payments and negotiate payment terms if necessary
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act)

**Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including debits and credits
- Proficient in financial software systems (e.g., Quicken) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze financial information
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Prior experience in public accounting or financial services is a plus
- Knowledge of journal entries and general ledger is preferred
