Carlisle Public Schools seeks a paraprofessional to collaborate with faculty to provide academic and emotional support for middle school students fully integrated within grade-level classes.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree required
- Prior experience working with students with disabilities required
- Training or coursework in special education preferred
**REPORTS TO**: Director of Student Support Services
**JOB GOAL**: Work collaboratively with special educators, therapists, and classroom teachers to modify curriculum, support academic skills, and create an environment that promotes emotional well-being and educational enrichment.
**PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES**:
(Under the direction and supervision of licensed educators who design instruction.)
- Provide academic support and direct instruction to students individually and in small groups to meet IEP goals/objectives.
- Take students on breaks to diffuse anxieties or misunderstandings
- Attend planning meetings, in-service workshops/training, team meetings, and parent-teacher conferences when requested by the Program Administrator.
- Adapt curriculum materials to meet individual student needs and IEP goals/objectives.
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of current IEPs of assigned students and collect data as requested.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism expected of the teaching staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Student Support Services.
