The Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce (SC Chamber) is the primary resource for networking, information and education for Sullivan County businesses, and provides a strong, valuable voice on behalf of the business community. The Chamber is the connection between the success of the business community and our region.

We assist, support, promote and advocate on behalf of our member businesses.

**Position**:
The SC Chamber is seeking a new President and CEO who will continue the tenure of dynamic leadership and passionate advocacy on behalf of the organization. Reporting directly to the Board Chair and, by extension, the Executive Committee and full Board of Directors, the President and CEO is charged with carrying out the mission and operations of the SC Chamber. S/he should possess, or very quickly acquire, a thorough understanding of the SC Chamber, its mission, history, operations, membership and customer service orientation, services and programs, culture and environment, as well as its requirements and base of financial support.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Leadership and External Relations**_
- Articulate a clear, compelling case for broad support of the SC Chamber; act as its primary spokesperson and advocate
- With Executive Committee, develop annual organizational performance goals
- Serve as an effective, visible spokesperson with media, government, public and membership
- Identify ways to highlight the successes and challenges of member businesses
- Represent the SC Chamber with county and municipal governments, government agencies and private/public partnerships, at conferences and events
- Manage communication across the organization

- Lead the SC Chamber efforts in identifying and cultivating new members
- With Board Membership Committee, focus on membership expansion, growth, and retention
- Engage and advocate on behalf of members and encourage organizational cohesion
- Develop and promote partnership and working relationships between members, elected officials, peer organizations, and regional Chambers of Commerce
- **Board and Volunteer RelationsGeneral Management, Finance, Operations**_**Qualifications:Salary**:

- Prepare and distribute agendas and related materials for Board of Directors meetings in accordance with the Bylaws
- With Board Chair and Executive Committee, clarify the role and expectations of the Board going forward
- Provide regular reports on organizational status and relevant governance issues
- Increase Board participation in Board committees, SC Chamber visibility, and resource generation
- Work with Executive Committee and Nominations & Bylaws Committee to identify and recruit new Board members; assist in the cultivation of new Board leadership as appropriate
- Work closely with Board Chair and Board Treasurer to develop annual budgets and oversee audit process.
- Manage all financial operations, including the budget process, financial reporting, bill payments and expenses, projected levels of funding and cash flow
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with major members and non-member funders
- Explore innovative ways of broadening and diversifying revenue streams; cultivate new relationships with potential revenue sources (private and public)
- Staff management, including annual performance reviews for all direct reports
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (minimum of 5 years)
- Significant professional history in the areas of business development, marketing, public relations, and/or communications
- Prior positions to include staff supervision, team leadership and financial performance responsibilities
- Demonstrated record of leadership and success in business and relationship development as well as organizational growth
- Current in contemporary office technology and social media
- Experience in public speaking; engaging and positive personality; energetic self-starter and problem solver
- Impeccable ethical standards and history of maintaining highest level of integrity and professionalism
- Willingness and availability to occasionally work on weekends and evenings
