Wound Care Nurse Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Wound Care Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Wound Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing specialized care to patients with wounds, injuries, or ostomies. Your role will involve assessing, treating, and monitoring patients' wound healing progress to ensure optimal recovery.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' wounds and develop individualized care plans.
- Implement evidence-based wound care treatments and procedures to promote healing.
- Monitor and evaluate patients' responses to treatment interventions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on wound care techniques, prevention strategies, and self-care practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of wound assessments, treatments, and progress notes.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and best practices in wound management.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to wound care services.

**Skills**:

- Proficiency in wound assessment techniques and wound care management.
- Experience in acute care settings or specialized wound care facilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
- Ability to perform specimen collection processing for laboratory analysis if required.
- Familiarity with discharge planning procedures for transitioning patients to appropriate levels of care.
- Experience working in a Level II Trauma Center is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to provide compassionate care to patients of all ages, including pediatrics if needed.
- Skill in dialyzing wounds as part of the treatment plan.

**Job Types**: Travel nursing, Contract

Pay: $2,300.00 - $2,400.00 per week
