Job Overview

The Georgetown University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (GUCEDD) - a major center within GUCCHD - focuses on developmental and other disabilities across the lifespan and embeds the role of cultural and linguistic competence, diversity, equity, and inclusion within the contexts of systems of supports and services for this population. It was recently awarded a contract from the New York Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) to design and conduct an independent evaluation of the states’ efforts to advance equity and reduce disparities in the developmental disabilities services system.

The Project Research Assistant works within the Research division of the GUCEDD, supporting the work of the new program as part of a team of faculty, staff and consultants.

They are primarily responsible for coordination of data collection activities, entering data from source documents within time limits; compiling, verifying accuracy and sorting information to prepare source data for computer entry; reviewing data for deficiencies or errors, correcting any incompatibilities and checking output; participating in research and evaluation team activities; and supporting general office/administrative assignments.

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation

Reporting to the Senior Project Researcher, the Project Research Assistant interfaces with project faculty and administrative staff, consultants and the project sponsor - as well as with members of the New York Office for People with Developmental Disabilities system. As well, they participate in meetings of the Research and Evaluation team as well as center-wide meetings as appropriate.

This position has been designated as Telework. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, with educational or professional background in social sciences - that is, education, psychology, sociology
- Strong written and oral communication
- Foundational social sciences research skills
- Background knowledge and demonstrated interest in working projects related to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Ability to maintain a research and evaluation library and catalogue of resources
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of library and web related research
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Familiarity with database management and statistical software experience (SPSS) - _preference_ for knowledge of Qualtrics and qualitative software
- Strong interpersonal skills

- Demonstrated interest in assisting with coordination of research and evaluation studies
