**Employment and Personal Support Professional**

Seeking full-time male professional to support a man with a disability in western Baltimore County for employment and personal needs while attending employment-related functions. Daytime and some evening hours desired. Pay rate Minimum:
**Responsibilities**:

- Provide employment supports as needed, including, but not limited to:

- Transport to and from work and community engagements in the staff’s own vehicle within the Baltimore/DC area.
- Assist with navigating accessible entrances, restrooms, and walkways while pushing individual in his wheelchair in the community; including assistance while in the restroom
- Assure that job tasks assigned to the individual are completed to the employers’ standards, which may include tasks like proofreading, taking dictation or notes, and assisting with operating Microsoft, Zoom, and assistive technology programs
- Foster and engage in positive relationships while promoting equality and civil rights for people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
- Assist with transfers and personal care needs both in home and public settings
- Provide support in the completion of his daily activities both within his home, at work, and in the community
- Provide outstanding Personal Support allowing him to participate as independently and fully as he wishes in all aspects of community life and at home
- Participates in team meetings and discussions

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or GED required, some college preferred
- CPR/First Aid certifications or willingness to obtain certificates
- Ability to pass a Federal background check
- Knowledge of and adherence to procedures related to bloodborne pathogens, or willingness to take training
- Current driver’s license and car insurance with reliable car large enough to transport wheelchair; and driving record acceptable to employer
- Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking while pushing wheelchair
- Ability to maintain HIPPA compliance and confidentiality
- Microsoft office proficiency and experience working with assistive technology
- Previous experience working with non-profit and/or grassroots organization (preferred, not required)
- Previous experience in advocacy and/or legislature (preferred, not required)
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities (preferred, not required)
- **Vaccination: Must have proof of current COVID-19 and flu vaccinations**

**Performance Requirements**:

- Education/Experience/Training/Certifications: high school diploma or GED required, some college preferred;
CPR/FA certifications or willingness to obtain; Current Driver’s License and driving record that is acceptable to employer
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: ability to follow written and verbal instructions; Microsoft office proficiency; experience with assistive technology; ability to provide written information to other staff and others in team
- Mental Demand: Confidentiality, problem solving, reading, writing, verbal communication, time management, multiple concurrent tasks
- Physical Effort: Walking, bending at waist, crouching, kneeling, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting, squatting, talking, seeing, hearing, writing, driving, sitting, and standing. Must be able to assist him with his personal tasks as needed, such as transferring, toileting, pushing (200lbs) in wheelchair
- Working conditions: occasional exposure to blood and other body fluids
- Communications: Interactions with other staff and others as needed
- Equipment Used: Augmentative/alternative communication devices/programs; Computer including Microsoft office programs, household appliances

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
