United Way of Dane County fights for the education, financial stability and health of everyone in Dane County. **PURPOSE OF POSITION**

The Director, Tocqueville Society is responsible for the achievement of transformative philanthropic and engagement goals associated with the growth and development of the Tocqueville Society. This position will manage the society’s volunteers and donor portfolio, with the goal of retaining existing donors, recruiting new donors, and ensuring that donors are fostered and understand the impact of their investments. The position will also have a specific focus on expanding gifts from targeted populations not traditionally included in the United Way campaign. The Tocqueville Society is comprised of more than 260 households making an annual gift of $10,000 or more.

**40%** **Tocqueville Program Management**
- Manage the Tocqueville program under the supervision of the Senior Director of Leadership and Major Giving, and in coordination with the Director, Foundation and Gift Planning and the Coordinator of Foundation and Major Gifts.
- Grow membership and revenue from Tocqueville Society members both inside/outside of the workplace campaign, fostering enduring donor relationships and inspiring heightened giving. while retaining current members with a strategy of thoughtful engagement that creates pathways for increased giving.
- Create incentive recognition for Tocqueville donors, with a keen focus on enhancing acknowledgement for our top-tier donors giving $100,000+ annually.
- Spearhead Tocqueville events, ensuring every detail is curated thoughtfully for maximum impact.
- Develop and implement Tocqueville event plan for the year to drive engagement. Set event objectives and measure ROI for each event or activity.
- Serve as the lead staff to design, promote and carry-out all aspects of Tocqueville Society events and activities to educate, recognize and thank existing donors and recruit new donors.
- Coordinate the development of compelling external marketing materials to include but not limited to mailings, brochures, advertisements, web content, newsletters and other materials in accordance with the established Tocqueville annual Calendar.
- Track and analyze membership metrics and fundraising progress, providing actionable insights to guide strategic decision making and empower executive leadership.
- Manage all strategies to achieve departmental goals and objectives and action steps for each Tocqueville-related project.

**35%** **Donor Relationship Management**
- Retain and cultivate a portfolio of donors and prospects. Personally initiate and cultivate ongoing and year-round one-on-one relationships with constituents that enhance the donor’s commitment and lifetime loyalty to United Way of Dane County with a focus on retraining donors. Introduce planned giving and endowed opportunities to donors as appropriate.
- Strategically engage with prospects including retirees, emphasizing the enduring importance of their support and enticing new donors to join the Tocqueville Society.
- Creatively craft prospect lists that help expand United Way’s support in the community to those who are outside of the traditional workplace campaign.
