TRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Brakes / to include proper replacement, adjustment, diagnostics of the brake air system
Light engine/ radiator, alternator, turbo, erg coolant, sensors, starters.
Engine diagnostic's and use of diagnostic software.
General electrical/ fuses, lights, switch replacement
DPF systems / Repair and replace
Fifth wheel / repair, rebuild and replacement
Transmission work / U-joints, drive shaft, clutch, clutch adjustment and axle shafts.
Heavy engine work / cylinder head, main gaskets replacements etc.
Preventive maintenance / oil change, D.O.T inspections
Interior general / seat replacement, cabinet replacement, converter installation.
Suspension system /spring repair, bushings, air bags and air bag systems
Hvac / air-conditioning, diagnostics and repair
Examples of Job Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance on trucks, such as checking batteries and changing oil to ensure proper vehicle running
Inspect various parts of trucks, including brake systems, wheel bearings, and steering mechanisms to ensure they are in the proper condition to operate effectively
Use different tools and equipment, such as pressure gauges, pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, screwdrivers, hoists, and jacks, to repair trucks while constantly utilizing safety precautions
Diagnose malfunctions in defective equipment by inspecting and testing using devices such as motor analyzers, handheld computers, and chassis charts to determine how to address problems
Test drive vehicles to ensure they are running properly and to find issues to determine what the solution will be
Replace parts, valves, bearings and gears as needed and repair vehicle cooling and heating systems
Measure vehicle emissions to ensure they are in the proper limits
Ensure parts conform to factory specifications by inspecting and verifying clearances and dimensions
Required:
Minimum 5 years of verifiable experience
Bumper to bumper repair skills on CMV
Must own your own tools
High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred Vocational Diesel Training Program
Must be able to lift heavy equipment and parts regularly
Excellent customer service skills
Must be comfortable with working in awkward positions or cramped spaces
Driver's License (required)
Preferred:
State/ASE Certification
CDL License (Preferred compensated for having)
