**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team for a 13-week contract in Muskegon, MI. The technician will be responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This role ensures that all sterile processing practices comply with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards to support patient care and surgical services.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Decontamination**: Clean and decontaminate surgical instruments and medical equipment using manual and automated methods.
- **Inspection**: Inspect instruments and equipment for cleanliness, damage, and functionality.
- **Assembly and Packaging**: Assemble instrument sets and package them according to established protocols and standards.
- **Sterilization**: Operate and maintain sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ensuring proper loading, processing, and monitoring of sterilization cycles.
- **Inventory Management**: Track inventory levels of sterile supplies and instruments, and ensure timely restocking.
- **Documentation**: Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, instrument usage, and equipment maintenance.
- **Quality Assurance**: Conduct routine quality assurance tests on sterilization equipment and adhere to infection control policies.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with surgical teams and other healthcare staff to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments and equipment.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent.
- **Certification**: Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT or CRCST) preferred.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in sterile processing or a related field.
- **Skills**: Proficiency in the use of sterilization equipment, strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
- **Physical Requirements**: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.

**Additional Requirements**:

- **Schedule**: Availability to work the 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM shift, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- **Compliance**: Adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.

**Job Types**: Contract, Travel nursing

Pay: $32.00 - $35.75 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- 5x8
- Night shift

Work Location: On the road
