Shield HealthCare is looking for a** Database Architect **responsible for the design, implementation, integration, monitoring and error handling of the buildout of a new platform into and out of current Shield HealthCare systems This platform build will be a hybrid of on-premises and cloud hosted databases.

**This is an on-site position in Valencia, CA.**

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Lead database architect on a new middleware buildout of data integrations to/from Shield HealthCare systems.
- Responsible for engineering and maintaining data integration interfaces.
- Manages IT data technology methods and Integrations between company systems (on-premise and cloud).
- Work closely with members of the IT team to ensure that all data workflows are consistently compliant with services (cloud, third party, database, analytics) and integrate with other company services.
- Responsible for maintaining company data workflows for best data management practices and governance.
- Responsible for performance tuning of all MS SQL databases.
- Design and document dataflow architecture.
- Builds database schema, tables, procedures and permissions as necessary with DBA team.
- Develops reporting from various data systems.
- Analyzes and sustains data integration capacity and performance requirements.
- Monitors systems and platforms for availability.
- Accountable for uptime and fluidity on integrations.
- Evaluates and recommends new integration/database technologies.
- Ensures and maintains end-to-end security and encryption throughout the transport of data.
- Prepares written materials for the purpose of documenting activities, written reference and/or conveying information.
- Solve issues and participate in defect and incident root cause analysis.
- Participate in an Agile development environment by attending standups and sprint planning activities.
- Familiar with integrations to/from MS Azure and AWS environments; ability to diagnose, alert and monitor data.
- In conjunction with other DBAs, provide data management, storage, and retrieval.
- Work collaboratively with the DBA team on data integration troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose issues.
- Recommends and oversees upgrades to integration systems and their effect to production environments.
- Participation in weekly on-call after hours support rotation.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum 5-7 years of systems and data pathway management experience in an enterprise environment.
- 6+ years of experience creating, interacting, and maintaining secure APIs (REST, SOAP).
- Strong experience with integrations (HL7, FHIR, EDI, cXML, etc.) to enterprise environments including EMR/EHR systems.
- Excellent problem-solving & troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- 4-Year BS / BA college degree preferred.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language is required.
