**Duties**:
Responsible for making keys, re-pinning cylinders or pin tumbler locks, and opening locks with or without keys including built-in and padlock combination locks. Assists Senior Locksmith with lock and key control matters.

- Requires a high school diploma, GED or equivalent experience and at least three years' experience as a locksmith or familiarity with locksmith techniques. Some knowledge of hardware specifications, electro-mechanical hardware (systems and components) is required. Must be able to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
- Requires lifting or carrying of items weighing in excess of 15 pounds and up to 50 pounds or heavier weights, with assistance. Workers frequently stand, stoop, bend, kneel and work in awkward positions when installing and opening locks and emergency exit hardware on-site. work is normally done inside in areas that are well lighted, heated and ventilated. Occasionally works outside in bad weather or in areas that are drafty and poorly lighted. Exposed to possibility of cuts, scrapes and bruises.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- WE-44 requires a high school diploma, GED or equivalent experience and at least five years' experience as a locksmith. Must be knowledgeable of industrial and governmental security lock and key control programs such as FF-L-2740. Extensive knowledge of hardware specifications, electro-mechanical hardware (systems and components) and system installation and purchasing is required. Ability to decipher commercially manufactured locking devices and understand the working interrelationships with a variety of equipment such as monitors, alarms, timing mechanisms and sensors, which make up security or surveillance systems. Must be able to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- This position requires an onsite presence and to be on call 24/7.
