ProYouth provides comprehensive expanded learning programs at the elementary, middle, and high school sites throughout Tulare and Monterey Counties. We provide services from the time school is out, until 6:00 in the evening. Our programs are funded by a combination of California’s After School Education and Safety (ASES) grants, federal 21st Century Community Learning Centers grants, school district investments, and foundation and corporate contributions. Our proven approach creates a positive learning environment that integrates youth development principles, provides academic support, and focuses on innovative Project-Based Learning experiences.

The Program Leader II is responsible for providing support to the Site Director and Program Leaders in their efforts to provide a safe, healthy and supportive environment during the expanded learning hours at their assigned site.

**ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Mentor**:

- Support Site Director in building a high-performing site team
- Support Program Leaders to become successful and effective
- Create a physically and emotionally safe environment at site for both staff and students
- Ensure that every student feels known, accepted, valued and respected; communicating in ways that build and maintain high levels of trust

**Site Support**:

- Maintain awareness of HEART Program goals and processes
- Understand State and Federal grant requirements
- Support Site Director to meet, or exceed, grant mandated attendance levels
- Serve students snack and complete daily and weekly snack attendance reports
- Ensure food safety and meet CACFP requirements
- Assist with timely completion of data entry, reports and attendance

**Academic Support**:

- Promote and maintain a culture of safety and well-being with students and staff
- Ensure that activities are age-appropriate, engaging and exciting to students

**Expectations and Accountability**:

- Support and demonstrate commitment to the ProYouth vision and goals
- Establish clear, consistent expectations for behavior and positive discipline
- Support Site Director in setting and achieving meaningful goals
- Build positive and professional relationships with coworkers, supervisors, ProYouth executive and administrative staff, site principal, teachers and parents
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, co-workers, school staff and parents.
- Possess the personal characteristics generally recognized as essential for good employees including integrity, initiative, emotional maturity, dependability, courtesy, good judgment and ability to work cooperatively with others.

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred,
- High School diploma or equivalent AND
- 48 Completed College Units or
- NCLB Paraprofessional Certification
- A minimum of two years’ experience working with youth is desirable.

**GENERAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Must pass a DOJ/FBI background check.
- Must receive TB clearance.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
- A valid California Driver License
- Adequate auto insurance coverage is required, you must be an ensured driver named on the policy
