**Job Duties**:
A Behavioral Health Technician is expected to understand and implement individual behavioral health treatment plans, record client behavior, observe medication management, take vitals, prepare food and ensure client safety. All these duties are outlined in greater detail below. **THIS POSITION NEEDS TO HAVE A MINIMUM OF 1 YEAR MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT EXPERIENCE AND BE ABLE TO PASS A LIVE SCAN FBI BACKGROUND CHECK. A BACHELORS DEGREE IN PSYCHOLOGY OR SOCIAL SERVICES PREFERRED.**
- 30 minute checks on all clients for the first 72 hours under our care.
- 1 hour checks on all clients.
- Monitor clients for SI behaviors.
- Assisting and observing clients during medication times.
- Addressing all issues concerning clients during shift (i.e. isolating behavior, aggressive behavior.)
- Being empathetic and supportive while interacting on a consistent basis with all clients during shift, utilizing motivational interviewing techniques to assist clients.
- IMMEDIATELY report to the Director of Operations if client is symptomatic.
- IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY ADMISSIONS DEPARTMENT IF A CLIENT IS GOING TO ACA. Followed by the Director of Operations and the Clinical Director.
- Transportation of clients as needed for various appointments.
- Support clients that are having mental health symptoms and assist to deescalate and return to baseline.
- Collaborate with the Mental Health Therapists and Clinical Team about any behavioral observations or concerns.
- Maintain adequate supply of all forms and inventory, including making grocery lists.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the house.
- Meals and snack preparation for breakfast, lunch and dinner and a variety of snacks.
- Laundry for clients.
- Take incoming calls to the office phone.
- Distribute cigarettes as per facility protocol.
- FOLLOW DIRECTIVES FROM SUPERVISOR.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries at all times with fellow staff and clients.
- Complete client intakes.
- Oversees residential clients
- Instructs and confirms the company’s rules and regulations to new admissions (Orientates Clients)
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and staff
- Attends meetings as directed
- Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment.
- Assist with upkeep of the facility.
- Completes and forwards any incident reports and any other safety risk issues immediately to supervisor.

Facility Staff Training:
Staff must be completed a total of 20 hours of training related to their job. Training will be provided on or off site.

Minimum Qualifications:

- 1 year mental health experience, BA degree in social services preferred but not needed with relevant experience
- Live Scan FBI background check Clearance
- Current certification in First Aid/CPR
- TB/ Health Screening
- Valid California Drivers License or State ID.'
