**SUMMARY**:
The full-time Groundskeeper/ Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean working environment for visitors, volunteers and staff in all assigned areas, including but not limited to Pima Air & Space Museum grounds, hangers, restrooms and trash bins.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Monitor and maintain assigned areas by cleaning, sweeping, dusting, mopping, waxing, scrubbing or vacuuming per established facility cleaning procedures.
- Empty all waste containers and dispose of all waste in the proper receptacles.
- Clean, sanitize and stock all assigned restrooms.
- Responsible for supply inventory in assigned area(s).
- Maintain equipment and tools used in assigned area(s); return equipment and tools to proper storage areas.
- Dust and maintain assigned display/exhibit areas.
- Perform Custodian services in office areas, galleries, break rooms, and educational service areas.
- Responsible for safely and legally driving Foundation motor vehicles and electric carts on Foundation business.
- Interact with all museum guests, employees, and volunteers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
- Maintenance the grounds to exceed our Guests’ expectations and maintain a strong exterior image and brand alignment.
- Grounds keeping functions include, but are not limited to, removing weeds from grounds, pruning trees and shrubs, and clearing brush.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and safely. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Weekend work on a rotating basis, scheduled opening and closing duty shifts and occasional evenings in support of museum events are part of the job requirements
- Must have attention to detail.
- Ability to be taught the proper usage of cleaning fluids.
- Ability to discern cleanliness aesthetic.
- Tolerance for cleaning chemicals.
- Must be able to legally drive a motor vehicle and electric cart.
- Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Must have a friendly, customer service attitude.
- Attend required training and ensure compliance with all applicable EPA and OSHA workplace requirements

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**:

- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as mopping (floors, walls, counters, etc.), vacuuming, window cleaning, etc. throughout an 8 hour shift.
- Ability to walk, stand, crawl, and reach up and down while cleaning.
- Ability to walk on uneven ground throughout the museum property.
- Ability to work in non-air conditioned areas throughout the duration of the assignment.
- Must be able to use sensory perceptions (sight, smell, touch, etc.) to determine cleanliness of restroom facilities, flooring, windows, etc.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be working in both temperature controlled and uncontrolled areas. The job requires working outdoors for extended periods of time over uneven ground in all types of weather. The work environment can be moderately noisy depending upon airplane traffic at the air force base.

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**:
The Custodian / Groundskeeper is required, at a minimum, to have at least 6 months of experience with grounds keeping, cleaning and cleaning fluids.

**LANGUAGE SKILLS**:

- Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English.

Pay: $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
