**Job Title: PRN Caregiver (Per Diem Caregiver)**

**Job Summary**:
As a PRN Caregiver, you will provide on-call and flexible caregiving services to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is suitable for caregivers who seek a flexible schedule and are available on an as-needed basis. PRN Caregivers may be called upon to fill in for regular caregivers or to meet an increased demand for caregiving services.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)**:

- Provide support with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation based on client needs.
- **Companionship**:

- Offer emotional support and engage in meaningful interactions to promote the mental well-being of clients.
- Participate in recreational activities as appropriate.
- **Meal Preparation**:

- Assist with meal planning and preparation, adhering to dietary guidelines.
- Ensure clients receive proper nutrition and hydration.
- **Light Housekeeping**:

- Perform light housekeeping duties, maintaining a clean and organized living space.
- **Medication Assistance**:

- Provide medication reminders and assist clients with medication administration following prescribed guidelines.
- **Observation and Reporting**:

- Monitor clients' physical and mental conditions and promptly report any changes to the designated supervisor or healthcare professionals.
- **Flexibility**:

- Be available on short notice to fill in for regular caregivers or to meet increased demand.
- Adapt to different caregiving environments and client needs.
- **Documentation**:

- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided, activities, and observations.

**Qualifications**:

- **Experience and Training**:

- Previous experience as a caregiver or completion of caregiver training programs.
- Familiarity with caregiving best practices.
- **Compassion and Flexibility**:

- Display compassion, empathy, and a patient-centered approach to caregiving.
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules and caregiving environments.
- **Communication Skills**:

- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- **Physical Stamina**:

- Ability to meet the physical demands of caregiving, including lifting, bending, and assisting with mobility.
- **Reliability**:

- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to being on-call as needed.
- **Background Check**:

- Successfully pass a criminal background check and other required screenings.

PRN Caregivers play a crucial role in providing flexible and responsive caregiving support to ensure the well-being of clients during various circumstances. This job description serves as a general guide and may be adjusted based on the specific requirements of the caregiving agency or employer.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 38 per week
