**Knowledge, skills and abilities**
- Considerable knowledge in building HVAC and plumbing system and their operation. Basic knowledge in electrical field. Working knowledge of all hand tools use in the trades such as electrical testing meter, water gauges, and alignment instruments to perform preventive maintenance on a variety of mechanical equipment. Demonstrated ability to use and follow department and manufacture recommendations and guidelines both written and oral to perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment and their associated controls.**Special licenses, registration or certification**
- Valid driver’s license in good standing with insurable driving record.**Education or training**
- None**Level and type of experience**
- Considerable experience performing maintenance and repair of building mechanical systems in a light commercial institutional setting.**Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)**
- Mechanical license, plumbing license, electrical license or equivalent training and certification in all or one of these fields and City of Norfolk backflow certification.
