RESPONSIBILITIES:
The High School Reading Interventionist is responsible for supporting student achievement in the area of reading with special attention to Tier II and III instruction. The interventionist provides individual or small group instruction to students who are not proficient in reading. This person works closely with school personnel to identify skills to increase the student’s success in the general education ELA classroom and to become proficient in reading.
- Identify students at-risk or not meeting grade level reading proficiency by analyzing data from district formative and summative assessments (Measures of Academic Progress), classroom grades, and state assessments.
- Plan and develop lessons to provide intensive instruction in reading to at-risk students or students who have been identified with a disability in need of specialized reading support
- Coordinates with the Director of Student Services and school Principals to develop a schedule of one-to-one and small group reading support based on analysis of data.
- Monitor student learning on a daily/weekly basis to identify areas of growth and need.
- Collaborate with teachers for purpose of identifying students and planning lessons / skills instruction related to state standards and objectives.
- Attend IEP meetings, as requested, to provide updates for students reading goals and benchmarks.

Pay: $50,006.95 - $77,250.69 per year
