**Duties**:

- Synchronizes the technical efforts of programs across the portfolio and aligns technical approaches, strategies, plans, and policies to meet Higher Headquarters goals and stakeholder requirements.
- Facilitates the transition of technology to the end-user, plans for early production, and ensures the sustainability of the product development process.
- Supervises a multidisciplinary team of technical and operational personnel carrying out projects intensely affected by advances in science, technology and emerging threats.
- Manages the Tasking Management System by establishing a robust process for the development, execution, and submission of technical documents and briefings.
- Participates in Product Design Reviews and other technical forums, where technical data will inform programmatic, product, and portfolio decisions.
- Ensures systems engineering databases are accurate and systems engineering efforts support cost, schedule, and performance goals for a wide range of acquisition programs.
- Leads digital engineering and digital transformation efforts across the portfolio.
- Oversees technical test and evaluation activities as well as quality assurance activities for suppliers.

- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
- Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at the Practitioner level in the Acquisition Career Field Engineering and Technical Management within 60 months of entrance on duty.
- Business travel required up to 15% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret (TS)/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- One year supervisory probationary period may be required.
- This position is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP) and requires a 3-year tenure agreement. Must sign DD Form 2889 (Critical Acquisition Position Service Agreement) and execute, as a condition of employment, a written tenure agreement.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I Confidential Financial Disclosure Reports) upon entering the position and annually thereafter.

**Educational Requirement for 0800 Series**:Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); OR (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
