Safety Specialist

**Position Summary**

The Safety Specialist will plan, organize, and supervise the day-to-day operations to identify, evaluate and assess probability and severity of losses. Implement safety programs and communicate to ensure compliance with such programs. This position will ensure compliance with company policies and all applicable regulatory standards which will include mínimal environmental responsibilities to support site environmental compliance.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Lead and foster a positive safety culture.
- Work together to identify Environment, Health, and Safety risks and implement solutions in a team environment.
- Conduct site risk assessments, audits, and safety inspections.
- Analyze loss data and perform root cause analysis.
- Facilitate safety meetings.
- Support and develop projects to advance safety at MonoSol.

**Qualifications**
- 5 Years safety responsibility experience in a manufacturing environment.
- High School diploma required, bachelor’s degree in safety management or technically related field preferred. Will consider experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience with manufacturing principles and processes such as TPM, Lean, 6-Sigma, and 5S preferred.
- Must be willing to be on call and respond to on-site incidents or accidents outside of normal work hours
- Must be able to travel to and work on occasion (mínimal) at all MonoSol facilities in Northwest Indiana (Merrillville, Portage, Duneland, and LaPorte).
