Job Title: Upholstery Technician

This position is responsible for supporting the shop to ensure vans are built timely and accurately. Responsibilities include cutting, fitting, installation, and wrapping panels and components.We offer 1099 employment of $22 to $32 hourly depending on the level of experience.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Assessment and Inspection: Examine furniture to assess the condition of the upholstery and identify areas that need repair or replacement.

3. Fabrication: Create new upholstery for furniture pieces, including cutting and sewing fabric or leather to fit the specific design and wood pices.

4. Material Selection: Choose appropriate materials, such as fabric, leather, foam, and other supplies, based on customer preferences and the type of furniture being worked on.

5. Pattern Making: Develop patterns and templates for cutting materials, ensuring precise measurements and a proper fit.

6. Installation: Install or attach upholstery materials to furniture frames, ensuring a snug fit and smooth appearance.

7. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and operate upholstery tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.

8. Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. May require occasional travel to warehouse or van pick up locations.

**Requirements**:
1. Experience: Previous experience as an upholstery technician or a similar role.

2. Skills: Proficiency in working with various upholstery materials, knowledge of hand and reciprocal sawing techniques, attention to detail, and good hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to operate different tools, such as palm and belt sander, razor blades/knife, staple gun, air saw, measuring tape, saw table and routers
- Ability to take basic measurements
- Light woodworking skills/experience with light power tools
- Must have a valid driver license and a good driving record
- Ability to follow instructions with mínimal supervision
- Experience with use of hand and power tools
- Ability to work in both a team environment and independently
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Problem solving, systems and method improvements skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Actively show initiative and adapt to rapid change
- Proactive and committed to continual improvement

5. Communication: Good communication skills to understand customer preferences and provide clear explanations of the repair or fabrication process.

6. Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and find creative solutions to upholstery challenges.

Pay: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Work Location: In person
