**The Opportunity**
- Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the on-site Food Labeling and Packaging Specialist is responsible for food labeling and packaging compliance to local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., FDA and USDA) for DNI Group LLC’s traded (i.e., bulk, food service, retail, and private label) and experiment or sample products.
- Labeling and packaging food products is not only a matter of aesthetics and marketing, but also of safety and compliance. As the Food Labeling and Packaging Specialist, you need to know how to design and select packaging materials, formats, and labels that meet the industry regulations and standards, as well as the end user or consumer expectations and preferences.

**Objectives**
- Ensure that labeling information is accurate, clear, complete, and truthful, and that it does not mislead or confuse the end user or consumer.
- Proactively collaborate as a solution-focused resource for the cross-functional team to ensure that products and projects are regulatorily compliant, competitively positioned, and build trust for customers, consumers, and regulatory authorities.
- Foster productive cross-functional relationships internally and externally with production partners and customers to enable effective, efficient, and value-creating data sharing and analytics.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Responsible for food labels
- Develop labels which include aspects such as product names, weight statements, ingredient statements, allergen declarations, and nutrition facts.
- Review new packaging proofs at all design stages to ensure grammar accuracy, ingredients, and nutrition facts.
- Regularly communicate with different parties during the development process and ensure that critical documents are maintained according to company requirements.
- Keep up with regulations
- Remain current with applicable food labeling and packaging regulations through various industry and watchdog services.
- Provide support and guidance on regulatory food labeling and packaging topics as needed.
- Become in-house expert or consultant regarding compliance of product claims and communicate relevant technical information to the rest of the teams.
- Able to follow multiple projects
- Effectively manage multiple projects while consistently delivering 100% speed to market and flexibility.
- Responsible for contributing to the maintenance of food label status in project trackers and other resources by reviewing content and entering data.
- Cross functional team participation
- Ensure products and products in development uphold standards of identity.
- Participate and work collaboratively in team brainstorming to provide creative options and solutions to assist the brand(s) on the development of new product names and claims.
- Ensure that product formulations adhere to proper naming principles to protect end user as well as the company.

**Education, Training, and/or Experience Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, nutrition, or related field required.
- A minimum of two (2)+ years’ experience in FDA and/or USDA food labeling regulations.
- English is the primary language. Japanese or Spanish, while beneficial, are not required.
