Responsibilities & Qualifications:
**Summary of Responsibilities**

Typically handled complex to high exposure claims and serve as primary contact person and/or claims designee for selected accounts.

Significant responsibility for decision making and to a high degree works autonomously by confirming liability of claims by reviewing bonds and documents submitted in support of claims. Analyzes liability and communicates liability positions.

Direct and monitor assignments to experts and outside counsel as well as establish reserves within authority or makes claim recommendations concerning reserve changes.

Negotiates and settles claims either directly or indirectly. Prepare reports by collecting and summarizing information.

Provides assistance to underwriters in review of contracts, bond forms, indemnity agreements and other related documents.

Provided input and coordinates loss information during monthly/quarterly business meetings

Ensures effective vendor and litigation management on claims with a focus on minimizing indemnity exposure and mitigating vendor and legal expense

**Preferred Experience and Skills**
- 3-5 years of experience in surety claims
- Oral and written communication skills
- Strong Analytical and problem solving skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people at all levels and functions of the organization.

**Preferred Education and Training**
- Law degree from an accredited law school.
- Completion of Adjustors license in TX and submit for other state as needed
- Actively licensed in the State where practicing.
