**Position Summary**:
The Manager, Health Operations & Events, will support coordination with the health team and cross-departmental collaborations. This coordination includes aspects related to HR support, management of meetings and calendars, logístical support, administration and operational planning, & culture club leadership, amongst others.

Best known for its engagement around sports, SOI promotes myriad of health services and activities and houses the largest global database of health screenings of people with IDD. SOI’s Health strategy is directed towards promoting equity and reducing health disparities for the 5 million athletes and 80 million people with IDD around the world through four strategic activities:

- Preventive care services, including early intervention for those under 8 years of age, fitness programs and public health promotion activities.
- Assessment services, directed at preventive health screenings and early detection of the most common conditions for people with IDD, and developing person centered care coordination and connections to reduce those conditions.
- Training services, to engage the health care workforce using evidence-based learning activities that employ virtual and hands-on interactions to improve quality of care.
- Promoting health systems reform through partnerships with providers and government organizations and promoting strong self-advocacy.

As an integral member of the Health Operations team, this role supports the highly impactful health programming provided throughout the world, including at major World Games. **Primary Responsibilities**:

- Lead virtual or in-person event planning for trainings, meetings and other Health events including developing timelines and checklists; conducting site visits, securing and overseeing vendor agreements, arranging travel and accommodations and building schedules for participants; coordinating with Finance and Legal departments in a timely manner, and managing all other logistics.
- Provide substantial cross-departmental management and coordination of Health events led by SOI, including at World Games and some regional Games; activities to include managing and compilation of equipment, supplies and printing lists; shipping and customs management of equipment and supplies; coordinating SOI delegations (including guests) to attend these events and managing all delegation logistics.
- When applicable, serve as on-site manager and solve problems as needed during events (some travel required).
- Provide support on all HR requirements for the department including tracking recruitment processes, coordinating onboarding and offboarding of staff, maintaining a current org chart with role descriptions, tracking goal setting and appraisals as well as developing and implementing a staff development plan.
- Provide team coordination for activities across the department including leading the Culture Squad and other social activities.
- Serve as the Point of Contact for translation requests and on the intranet committee.
- Provide a range of support for the health team, including capturing and distributing meeting minutes; managing inventory, reporting, and coordinating reordering of supplies at offsite storage location; supporting purchase orders, grants administration, check/wire requests, value in kind (VIK) sponsor documentation, MOUs and consulting agreements, business correspondence and other functions.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified (or equivalent experience)
- Capable of high levels of consistency, accuracy, confidentiality, and excellent attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a range of individuals from diverse cultures and professional backgrounds.
- Strong ability to reliably and independently manage and coordinate projects to completion including a close attention to detail and demonstrating skills in organization, time management and prioritization.
