Property Casualty Insurance Actuary 1

**THE POSITION**:
**DESCRIPTION OF WORK**:
- As a Property Casualty Insurance Actuary 1, you will review property and casualty (P&C) insurance rates, rating procedures, rating plans, statistics, schedules, and rules ensuring that proposed rates are not excessive, inadequate, or unfairly discriminatory and that rules comply with state and federal laws. Filing reviews require an understanding of P&C ratemaking standards and procedures, rating plans, rules, and Pennsylvania and federal insurance statutes and regulations. You will have the opportunity to independently complete standard assignments and actuarial studies in the determination of P&C insurance rates, rating plans and rules filed by P&C insurance companies and rating organizations following guidelines provided by statutes, regulations, and established procedures.

** Work Schedule and Additional Information**:
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
- Schedule flexible based on operational need.
- ** Telework**:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, 1 day per month in office required. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- ** Salary**:_ _**In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY**:
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Minimum Experience and Training Requirements**:
- Successful completion of four parts of the Casualty Actuarial Society examination program;** or**:
- Three years of actuarial experience in property and casualty insurance; and a bachelor's degree with major course work in mathematics or statistics;** or**:
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
