Jr. Technician

Position Overview:
Rig Source is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Technician to join our team of skilled heavy equipment mechanics. The Junior Technician will work under the guidance of senior technicians to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot a fleet of specialized drilling equipment, including drill rigs, trucks, and support vehicles. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in heavy equipment maintenance within the geotechnical and environmental drilling industry.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist senior technicians in performing routine maintenance tasks on drill rigs, trucks, and support equipment according to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
- Learn to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with drilling equipment and implement appropriate repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Support the assembly, disassembly, and installation of drilling components, including drill rods, casings, and drilling tools, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
- Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to identify potential problems and proactively address maintenance needs to prevent breakdowns and ensure operational efficiency.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and parts inventory to facilitate tracking and reporting.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate any issues or concerns related to equipment maintenance and repair tasks.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational program in diesel mechanics or related field is preferred.
- Some prior experience in heavy equipment maintenance or mechanical repair is desirable, but not required.
- Basic understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components commonly found in heavy equipment.
- Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions from senior technicians to perform maintenance and repair tasks effectively.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols in a dynamic work environment.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
