**Position Summary**:
This is an exciting opportunity to help the initial growth of our U.S based company This person will focus on developing, planning, and implementing ocean freight operations. They will also establish the correct standards, laws and polices related to ocean freight.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the provision of ocean transportation intermediary services to Berger Logistics U.S. customers.
- Develop, implement, and continuously enhance ocean import/ export operational procedures.
- Map company process flows and continuously review to identify efficiency gains.
- Establish and manage relationships with origin counterparts and destination partners.
- Strategically grow a network of ocean carriers.
- Assist in negotiation of rates and contracts with ocean carriers.
- Help resolve issues with steamship lines, ports and container freight stations, and carriers.
- Work with the Road Team to optimize customers’ end-to-end transportation solutions.
- Stay current with developments and changes in applicable laws, regulations, and other government requirements.
- Oversee compliance with applicable regulations, other government requirements and filings, and company standards.

**Required Work experience, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Minimum 2+ years of ocean freight forwarding experience.
- Minimum 1+ years of NVOCC experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
- Strong understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and other government requirements.
- Proven ability to establish or enhance ocean import/export operational functions.
- Results oriented with the drive to grow an international ocean freight forwarding business.
- Experience participating in the creation of strategic planning initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills with a systematic problem-solving approach.
- Must possess exceptional communication skills.
- Must be able to work in high pressure situations in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
