**_Position Overview:_**

To oversee, plan, coordinate and implement project quality control activities in accordance with the company quality program and the project contract requirements. The Quality Control Manager reports to the company Quality Manager

**_ Field Responsibilities:_**
- Perform in-process inspections and testing as needed.
- Verify conformance to requirements of the company quality program and the project contract requirements.
- Schedule and coordinate inspection and testing for work activities with Production Team Members.
- Supervise, monitor activities, and review reports, performed by Independent Testing Agencies.
- Generate Non-Conformance Report for work that is not compliant with the contract requirements and maintain a Non-conformance Log.
- Coordinate and perform receiving inspections for contract compliance on delivered materials, products and equipment to be permanently installed in the work.
- Generate Quality Activity Reports for construction activities performed by Subcontractor or self-performed work.
- Work with suppliers, fabricators and manufactures to ensure quality is being performed in accordance with contract specifications.
- And all other assigned quality field responsibilities.

**_ Administrative Responsibilities:_**
- Develop understanding/working knowledge of company quality program and applicable industry standards.
- Participate with Quality Manager with internal/external quality audits; provide input for improving quality control procedures, developing new procedures and quality standards.
- Assist Quality Manager with review of subcontractor quality control plans when needed.
- Inform staff and subcontractors on company quality requirements and specific project contract quality requirements.
- Assist Superintendent, Project Managers and Project Engineers in resolving non-conformance issues.
- Assist Project Team with Procurement of Independent Testing Agencies and Engineering Consulting Companies to perform work for quality related activities and issues.
- Develop understanding of project contract documentation, requirements and specifications.
- Review Invoices for Quality Work performed by Independent Testing Agencies and Engineering Consulting Companies and recommend payment to Project Manager.
- Review all quality documents from Independent Testing Agencies, Subcontractors, and Engineering Consulting Companies for accuracy and statement of conformance.
- Maintain quality document management system.
- Attend weekly owner progress meetings when required.
- Attend weekly subcontractor meetings when required.
- Participate in the company three phases of construction quality control program.

**_ Qualification & Experience:_**
- Minimum 5 years of related quality assurance/quality control, inspection or operations experience in construction industry. Good working knowledge of industry Civil standards, Bridge and Highway standards and federal/local government agencies quality control requirements and specifications. QA/QC certifications, inspection certifications and/or related certifications are desirable but not required.

**_ Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:_**
- Ability to effectively work well with Testing Agencies, subcontractors and project staff members.
- Good managerial skills.
- Ability to supervise and manage personnel
- Ability to work effectively with staff and subcontractors
- Strong organizational skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to determine acceptability and rejectability of work based on contract requirements, industry standards and/or assigned criteria.
- Ability to evaluate information using personal judgment and/or measurable standards.
- Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for anticipating and finding problems.
- Ability to self-start and initiate project requirements.
- Ability to work in a high performance and fast paced environment.
- Ability to manage and prioritize simultaneous projects.
- Ability and knowledge of use of a computer.
- Good knowledge and use of word processing and spreadsheet software programs.
- Flexibility and tolerance for constantly changing demands.
- Pays attention to details.

**_ Education and Training:_**
- Four year college degree.
- Minimum 5 years field experience in quality control inspection, construction, operations or equivalent combinations training and/or related experience.
