Takeoff Specialist

We are currently seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Takeoff Specialist to join our team. The Takeoff Specialist will play a vital role in the pre-construction phase, accurately quantifying materials and resources required for projects. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of construction plans and specifications.Responsibilities and Duties:

- Review construction plans, blueprints, and other project documents to understand project scope, specifications, and requirements.
- Utilize software and tools to perform accurate material quantity takeoffs for various construction components, including but not limited to concrete, steel, wood framing, drywall, and finishes.
- Collaborate with project managers, estimators, architects, and engineers to clarify project details and ensure accurate takeoffs.
- Identify and document any discrepancies or inconsistencies in project plans and specifications.
- Maintain organized records of takeoff data, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the process.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing and availability information for materials and resources.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and project budgets by providing detailed takeoff reports and cost estimates.
- Stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, and material costs to inform takeoff processes and improve accuracy.
- Provide support to project teams during the procurement and construction phases, offering insights and recommendations as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements in takeoff procedures and workflows.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in construction takeoff, estimating, or project management roles, with a strong understanding of construction plans and specifications.
- Proficiency in construction takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam, Planswift, On-Screen Takeoff) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret complex construction documents and perform accurate quantity takeoffs.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes/regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
