**Water and Wastewater Operation Specialist**

The Water and Wastewater Operation Specialist will report to Site Supervisor, Engineering department and Project Manager.

**Job Overview**

As a Water and Wastewater Operation Specialist at Bclear you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful startup and operational functionality of water and wastewater projects. In this position, you will oversee the commissioning of new systems, execute detailed startup procedures, and provide comprehensive training to operators. Success in this role means not only achieving optimal and sustainable operation of water treatment facilities, but also ensuring that all safety and regulatory standards are met consistently. This position is pivotal within our organization, as it supports our commitment to delivering innovative and efficient water solutions to our clients, thereby directly impacting our company’s reputation and growth in the environmental engineering industry.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Oversee the commissioning and startup of new water and wastewater treatment facilities to ensure they meet design specifications and operational requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive training sessions for operators, focusing on system operation, maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Monitor system performance during the initial operation phase, making adjustments as needed to optimize processes and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions promptly.
- Develop and maintain detailed operational documentation and standard operating procedures to support consistent and safe facility management.
- Conduct inspections of operational water and wastewater plants experiencing issues, provide diagnostics, suggest solutions, and perform training for site operators as needed to ensure optimal functionality and compliance. Liaise with local regulatory bodies to ensure all necessary permits and certifications are obtained and maintained.
- Provide feedback to design and engineering teams on system performance to inform future projects and innovations.

**Qualifications**
- Certification as a Wastewater Operator Certification Class C or B
- Experience operating and stabilizing Lamellas, DAFs, Ultrafiltration, Reverse Osmosis, Media filtration, Activated Sludge and chemical dosing.
- Minimum of three years of experience in water and wastewater treatment operations, including hands-on experience with startup and commissioning of facilities.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and operational manuals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex systems and optimize their performance.
- Effective communication and training skills, capable of educating operators and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Possession of a valid driver's license, as travel to various project sites is required.
- Physical ability to navigate large treatment facilities, which may include maneuvering in confined spaces and handling or moving equipment.
- Bilingual Spanish/English is not required but preferred.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $67,800.00 per year
