**Position Title**:Athletic Trainer (High School)
**Terms of Employment**:12-month position
- **Start July 1, 2024**
**Immediate Supervisor**:Athletic Director
**Salary**: $49,500 - $65,000

**Summary**:
The Athletic Trainer will work with medical professionals and coaches to evaluate athletes' condition, establish plans for rehabilitation and treatment, and track progress towards health and fitness goals.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelors or Masters degree in CAATE Program
- Licensed in accordance with state regulations
- First Aid, CPR and AED certified
- Concussion protocol

**Responsibilities**:

- Performs initial assessment of student-athletic injuries and takes appropriate follow up steps to ensure safe and proper care including injury prevention, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, immediate care, treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning including return to play concussion protocols.
- Provide athletic training coverage for home interscholastic practices and competitions as well as all away varsity football games (coverage should be based upon the risk, frequency and severity).
- The Assistant Principal for Athletics & Activities will determine athletic training schedule and coverage for interscholastic athletics practices.
- Work is completed in controlled indoor environments as well as outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions.
- Monitor weather conditions so that they are conducive and safe for athletic competitions and practice.
- Maintain and organize the Athletic Training Room so it is accessible and functional for student-athletes.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as maintaining accurate records on injuries and treatment programs.
- Schedule physician coverage for all home varsity football games.
- Effectively communicate with all parties including district and school administration, coaches, student-athletes and their parents/guardians related to student-athlete injury and rehabilitation.
- Maintain professional relationships and communications with the Assistant Principal for Athletics & Activities, coaches, student-athletes and parents/guardians.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Principal for Athletics & Activities on the budget for the Athletic Trainer and the Athletic Training Room.

**Equipment**
Uses various equipment for training and AED when necessary.

**Travel Requirements**
Travel will be required when traveling to away games.

**Physical Demands**
Performing the duties of this job may require frequent standing, walking, sitting, crouching or kneeling depending on the circumstances of need and care.
