**GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES**:
The Clinician is responsible for providing direct behavioral health treatment for incarcerated clients. The continuum of care includes intakes, assessments, facilitation of treatment groups, and individual interventions. Clinicians support a treatment milieu for incarcerated residents through collaboration with security, case management, medical, the reentry and education teams. Clinicians also are involved the continuous improvement process for treatment, including curriculum development work and ongoing training to hone best practices. Clinicians are expected to be proficient and knowledgeable in the field of mindfulness based cognitive behavioral modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Works under the general supervision of the Clinical Supervisor.

**EXAMPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Conducts clinical intakes, individual action plans and performs diagnostic assessments. Administer intake and exit clinical process measures and data assessments. Facilitate evidence based clinical groups (e.g., DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, Thinking for a Change, etc.). Demonstrate an understanding of criminogenic risk/need and how to clinically respond to effect meaningful behavioral change. Demonstrate a clear understanding of trauma informed care and how to implement best practices. Facilitate behavioral analysis work with clients. Maintains accurate and timely case notes, intake and other data reporting. Perform clinical interventions with clients who receive disciplinary reports or infractions or as needed. Attend team meetings (e.g., DBT Team meeting, Unit meetings, Clinical Team Meetings, etc). Collaborates with the reentry, case management, medical, and security teams to coordinate treatment. Perform curriculum development tasks as needed. Prepares various written reports. Tracks compliance of the transitioned inmates in the community. Maintains regular written documentation of programming in accordance with prescribed policies and procedures.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
Master’s degree in a related clinical field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, etc.). Thorough knowledge and proven ability in assessments, counseling, and treatment planning. Possession of or working toward independent clinical licensure in Massachusetts (LICSW, LMHC or LMFT). Prior relevant experience in a correctional setting is desirable. Ability to work with various professionals, including medical, clinical and security staff within the house of correction. Ability to work with community providers including law enforcement agencies. Flexibility in work hours, including evenings and occasional weekends. Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class 3 Motor Vehicle Operator’s License. Regular and predictable work attendance. Ability to motivate others. Ability to establish and maintain rapport with persons from different ethnic, cultural and/or economic backgrounds. Ability to adapt to varying work situations. Ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to prepare reports, analyze and determine the applicability of data, draw conclusions and to make appropriate recommendations. Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with others. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to act calmly, make decisions and act quickly in emergency and crisis situations. Ability to interact with people who are under physical and/or emotional stress.

**SHIFT**:5&2 SCHEDULE, Monday - Friday, (37.50 hrs.) 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

**SALARY RANGE**:$62,906.22 - $89,858.34

**GRADE**: 17/20 (Dependent upon experience)

**FRINGE BENEFITS**:Full fringe benefit entitlements in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and State Personnel Policies.
