Plumbing Subcode Official

Position Summary: Under general supervision from the Building Official, performs technical duties in enforcing construction codes to ensure public safety and health.

Essential Functions:

- Comply with the time limitation for review as determined by the Construction Official.
- Review requests for variations as necessary.
- Perform all required inspection within three days of the inspection request.
- Issue in the name of the enforcing agency notices of violation and notify the Construction Official of same. The Subcode Official may issue verbal orders at the jobsite and shall record such orders in their inspection report.
- Complete report of all inspections performed.
- Issue stop work orders in the name of the enforcing agency and notify Construction Official of same.
- Perform final inspections and notify Construction Official of approval in order that the Construction Official may issue Certificate of Occupancy.
- Make inspections, review submitted data, and notify Construction Official of approval in the case of a Change of Use or a request for a Certificate of Occupancy.
- Assist the Construction Official in the preparation of all reports required by the regulations.
- Attend meetings and hearings as required by the Construction Official.
- Issue documentation and certification, such as cut-in-cards to utilities and/or public agencies, when required by the regulations.
- Carry out other duties as directed by the Construction Official.

Qualifications/Skills:

- High School Graduate
- Driver’s License
- HHS Plumbing Subcode License Required
- Use of Equipment: Personal computer (Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel); photocopier, calculator, fax machine
- Software: SDL, Edmunds

Pay: $85,000.00 per year
