**JOB TITLE**: Assistant Housekeeping Manager

**REPORTS TO**: Housekeeping Manager

:
The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supervises and coordinates activities of room attendant, house attendant, public area cleaners and floor supervisors. He / She assists in the managing and directing of the day-to-day operations of all housekeeping and laundry functions.

Participates in and enforces quality assurance for Housekeeping Department and department cost control measures.

Essential Functions:

- Plan and prepare employee work schedules.
- Instruct staff in work policies and procedures, and the use of housekeeping equipment.
- Obtains list of vacant rooms to be cleaned immediately & list of prospective checkouts or discharges to prepare work assignments.
- Perform or assist with cleaning duties as necessary.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other department heads.
- Assist with managing day-to-day staffing requirements, planning, and assigning work, and establish performance and development goals for employees. Assist mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve employee performance.
- Inspect work performed to ensure that it meets specifications and established standards.
- Print, prepare, and maintain all housekeeping related reports and traces from PMS.
- Remain fluent in PMS and other related technologies.
- Prepares store requisition, purchase other supplies and equipment, also monitor par stock on all housekeeping guest supplies and linens.
- Oversee any guest communications from housekeeping.
- All other tasks as assigned by the Director of Housekeeping.

Physical Demands:

- The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of the job._
- Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing and or pulling approximately 100 pounds
- Remain stationary for extended periods of time
- Frequently movement around the facility
- Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
- Frequently bending, stooping, and kneeling

Education and Experience:

- A minimum of one year experience as a housekeeping supervisor
- Must speak fluent English and Spanish

Hours of Work:
30+ hours per week. Must have weekend and holiday availability.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position is responsible for supervising the housekeeping staff at the direction of the Housekeeping Manager
