**Job Title**: Research Assistant**

**General Position Description**:Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Research Assistant will work on a project funded by the National Institutes of Health to increase SARS-CoV-2 vaccinations among people who inject drugs (PWID) to try to determine why people do not vaccinate and how digital media can help increase vaccination rates.

**This position is for 3 days per week (60% effort) at 7.5 hours per day.**

**Salary at 80% Effort: $32,000 Bachelors, $36,000 with a master’s, and $40,000 with a doctorate**

**Consideration will also be given to advanced studies and relevant work experience.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Enroll PWID in a clinical trial to evaluate different technology-based approaches to working with vaccine hesitant individuals.
- Recruit and conduct in-depth interviews people who inject drugs (PWID)
- Develop or assist in the development of interview schedules.
- Attend project meetings.
- Assist with the preparation of articles, reports, and presentations.
- Perform other related duties as required.

**Education/Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science, Psychology, Sociology or equivalent field required, Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.
- Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative research.
- Prior work with populations that experience health disparities, a must.
- Individuals with lived experience are especially encouraged to apply.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Excellent writing skills.
- Spanish language skills desirable.
- Highly organized and systematic, with attention to detail
- Able to work independently with an aptitude for multi-tasking and managing multiple projects.
- Collaborative work style with eagerness to continually learn and grow.
