**GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES**:

- WIC Nutritionist, assists with outreach and recruitment of program participants as well as the promotion of the WIC program.
- Assist the WIC Clinical Assistant with the responsibilities of checking in clients, making appointments, keeping the client data base updated and any other integral part of providing excellent customer service to WIC participants.
- As required, perform health measurements on all participants and accurately assess nutrition risk.
- Provides participant centered nutrition counseling and referral services for WIC participants.
- Positively promotes breastfeeding to all WIC participants, educate through facilitation of breastfeeding classes while ensuring breastfeeding initiation and duration.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences (Home Economics) with an emphasis in Nutrition defined as a minimum of 9 hours in nutrition which include, 3 hours of introductory nutrition, 3 hours in life cycle nutrition, 3 hours in advance nutrition.
- Be a self-starter, able to work independently, service oriented with attention to detail.
- Be committed to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, volunteers, program participants, and other WIC Program supporters.
