Shop Helper

Eastern States Construction Service, Inc. (Eastern States), a family-owned business since 1953, is a Heavy/Highway and Site Development Construction Company specializing in public sewer, water, site development and heavy/highway construction projects with a roster of major public and private clients, including state and local governments, corporations, regional construction managers and private developers in the Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey region.

We are currently seeking a Shop Helper to join our dedicated team. The Shop Helper is responsible to work diligently to keep the equipment and shop organized and clean and also assist mechanics when necessary.

**Essential Functions**:

- Perform all work efficiently and in compliance with State and Federal regulations as well as Company procedures.
- Maintain housekeeping according to schedule of shops, yard, and equipment including emptying of waste cans, sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down walls, clean windows, and clean bathrooms.
- Power wash equipment including remove belly pans and body panels; keep equipment in acceptable and presentable working order
- Clean shop offices, common areas, shop work areas and yard
- Assist shop mechanics and perform minor equipment repair
- Maintain parking lot and grounds in neat and orderly fashion
- Unload supply deliveries
- Drive company vehicle to run shop errands or pickup parts and materials as needed

**Required Education and Experience**:
Entry level position - experience not required; mechanically inclined is plus.

**Additional Eligibility Requirements**:

- Clean driving record
- Valid Medical Examiners Certificate preferred
- Forklift Certification preferred
