Coatings Laboratory Technician

PPG Aerospace is looking for an Entry Level Sealants Lab Technician at our Manufacturing Facility based in Mojave, CA As a **Coatings Lab Technician**, you will work on site on **3rd shift** and report directly to the Coatings Lab Supervisor, ensuring that products manufactured at this facility meet all customer requirements. Experience isn’t required but we hope you have some basic experience working in a lab type environment. Every batch of product we produce requires someone like you to do testing. **Key Responsibilities**
- Perform basic mathematical equations
- Must be open to work all M-F shifts:

- 1st Shift: 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- 2nd Shift: 1:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
- 3rd Shift: 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
- Conduct Analytical testing on our Raw Materials, Coatings, and Sealants products
- Ensure all Lab equipment is working and calibrated
- Help achieve team goals by communicating ideas, suggestions, and assistance, e.g., communicating ways to save time, effort, and resources
- Be or become familiar with SOPs and ASTMs on everyday chemicals and testing procedures
- Participate in all safety protocols and 5S programs and help to maintain the laboratory equipment and inventories
- Keep a clean work environment, to include the execution of routine upkeep activities to support the entire lab
- Inspect, test, and perform evaluations on products
- Identify issues that need to be addressed and to take the necessary steps to avoid future errors

**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent required or bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field preferred
- Related technical certifications with coatings and sealants preferred
- One (1) year of previous experience working in a laboratory environment preferred
- Must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident

Salary Range: $52,000 to $55,000 Depending on experience
