We are a rapidly growing custom protective packaging manufacturer in Oak Ridge, TN specializing in wooden crates, ATA cases, injection molded cases, and foam. We are a small shop so you’d be our only manager over our Hardware Division, which is charge of all custom cases.

Everyone at the company is expected to operate at a high level of efficiency and accuracy so that the company can grow and everyone can move into better, higher paying positions. With the growth we’ve been experiencing, if you have a desire to lead larger teams or move into roles like sales, those may be possible over the coming years.

While we are hyper focused on growth and results, it is important to mention that a family culture is very important to us. You’d be joining a group of 13 other great guys who all respect and care for each other. It is important that you would have the same level of respect, care, and kindness for everyone at the company.

This is a niche industry so direct experience is unlikely and not required, however, 2+ years of related experience is preferred. **Cabinet Makers, Woodworkers, Construction Workers, and Mechanics** tend to have the most relatable experience. In addition, we will require applicants to have 2+ years of experience managing a team in a production context.

**Training**:While you will be hired as our Crating Manager, you'll need to learn how our products are built and everything works. Therefore, your first ~6-12 months will likely consist of working on the shop floor like anyone else on your team. There is currently only 1 other person in the Hardware Division. He will be able to teach you everything you need to know about building the product. This department looks like it could grow significantly in the next few months to 3-5 people.

**Compensation**: $25-30/hour with the goal of increasing that salary as the Crating Division grows.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the production department in a manufacturing setting.
- Ensure that production targets are met and quality standards are maintained.
- Coordinate and schedule production activities to optimize efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with procurement to ensure adequate supply of materials.
- Train and supervise production staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to create a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve any production issues.
- Continuously evaluate and improve production processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, including the use of power tools and hand tools.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in production processes.
- Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Work ethic, team attitude and positive energy: the work that we do can be tough and demanding at times. We need someone that maintains a spirit of optimism, fun and collaboration in a team environment.
