**The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the VP, Marketing, is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing and leading our enterprise marketing strategy, operations, and audience insights. This role is responsible for developing and implementing the overall marketing strategy to drive business growth, brand awareness, consumer engagement, and B2B advertising for TrueCar, as well as, creating and executing public relations and communication strategies that support our company's business objectives. This is a key leadership position that plays a critical role in shaping TrueCar's brand image and ultimately contributing to our organizational success. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, leadership, marketing expertise, and a data-driven approach to develop and execute effective marketing strategies and solutions. We are looking for someone who is entrepreneurial with a proactive mindset and isn't afraid to push the envelope to make the TrueCar brand culturally relevant.

**How you'll contribute to TrueCar's success**:

- Develop strategic messaging to ensure the TrueCar story and our community comes to life externally in compelling and creative ways that strengthen TrueCar's reputation as a leader in our marketplace and build awareness and understanding through strategic brand positioning, industry thought leadership, and media relations.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the company's business goals and objectives.
- Oversee brand positioning, messaging, creative and visual identity across all marketing channels and touchpoints that help TrueCar standout from our competitors.
- Ensure that every manifestation of the TrueCar brand is consistent and the best representation of the brand guidelines
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the marketing department, including budgeting, planning and resource allocation.
- Lead full-funnel marketing efforts across all paid, earned, and owned channels.
- Manage a robust marketing technology infrastructure with the objective of using first and third-party data to optimize customer acquisition, conversion rate, and audience insights.
- Work closely with product management to develop and execute product marketing strategies for partner and dealer marketing, including product launches and positioning.
- Collaborate with TrueCar Marketing Solutions team to ensure that all on-site advertising impression and traffic commitments are fulfilled.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats.
- Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics and KPIs, and use data-driven insights to optimize marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, product development, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment and integration of marketing efforts and revenue growth with overall business objectives.
- Communicate marketing strategies, plans, and results to executive leadership, board members and other stakeholders.

**Your Expertise**:

- Progressive business and leadership experience
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive business growth and make a brand culturally impactful.
- Prior lifestyle marketing experience from inception to execution.
- Prior experience communicating across all levels of the organization including executive/c-suite levels.
- Expertise in first-party data, audience segmentation, and identity mapping.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Deep understanding of marketing technologies, tools, and best practices.
- Experience in B2B and/or B2C marketing preferred.
