THIS POSITION IS HIRING IMMEDIATELY TO START ON MONDAY 05/20. THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION THAT WILL LAST FOR ONE MONTH, UNTIL APPROXIMATELY 06/15/24.

**Job Title**:Bus Attendant - Camp Springs, MD (meeting point)

**Employment Type**: Part-Time / Contract (**until June 1, 2023**). We are pending word on contract award for summer school and / or the next school year.

**Daily Split Shift Schedule** (Mon - Fri): 6:00am - 9:30am **AND **2:00pm - 4:30pm = **6 hrs/ day**

**IMPORTANT**: Arrive Camp Springs bus lot at 6:00am, complete route by 9:30am. Return to same location by 2:00pm, complete route by 4:30pm.

USA Guided Tours LLC was founded in 2013 and is the top-rated sightseeing / transportation service provider in the National Capital Region. Our services, range from public and private sightseeing tours, to multi-forms of transportation.

**Duties/Responsibilities**

The Bus Attendant:

- ensures the safety of each student
- assists the driver with morning inspection of the buses.
- provides support and instruction to the students to ensure their understanding and compliance with bus safety
- assists the driver in maintaining cleanliness of the bus
- works with the driver to ensure each student is picked up and dropped off at their designated location in a timely manner
- **escorts / physically assists students** from their designated pickup/drop-off address to and from school or curbside to and from the bus
- assists the driver with reverse operation of the bus by exiting bus and providing hand signals and other appropriate forms of guidance
- monitors students and maintains order on the bus and may recommend approved applicable behavior management suggestions
- moves about the bus to attend to student needs
- communicates with driver, parents/guardians, and school personnel about student needs
- assists the driver with submission of necessary reports
- ensures compliance with OSSE DST Policies and Procedures and the National Standards for School Buses and School Bus Operations
- operates special equipment used by children with disabilities
- performs Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid as needed (training provided)
- participates in pre-service training and engages in ongoing training sessions as directed
- acts as point of contact for officials regarding accidents and incidents and written reports

**Requirements / Qualifications**
- **MUST HAVE comparable experience and worked as a Bus Attendant or worked with youth**:

- **MUST HAVE **worked in a customer service role in an office setting
- Possess a High school education/GED or higher
- Clear handwriting for completion of daily paperwork
- Ability to work without more than normal supervision
- Ability to inspect - dexterity and safety
- Maintain work practices (includes keeping things neat, clean and in order).
- Ability to perform CPR and First Aid as needed (training provided)
- **Proven experience**: demonstrating **exceptional customer services skills and communicating with upper level management, clients, etc.**:

- **Ability to manage difficult or emotional situations**; respond promptly to customer (students) needs, respond to request for service and assistance; and meet commitments
- **Ability to deal with and resolve conflict constructively**; listen to others without interrupting; keep emotions under control in tense situations; maintain composure and react well under pressure
- **Must be able to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations**; listen and get clarification; respond well to questions; exhibit sound and accurate judgement.

- Monday to Friday
