Maintenance Technician

The role of the Facilities Maintenance Aide is to maintain the general upkeep of all buildings and equipment, in order to maintain the physical church facilities in a condition of operating excellence and safety.

1. Cleaning/Maintenance Duties
- Upon reporting for duty, review the daily schedule to make sure buildings are opened accordingly, and review daily list of duties; items should be checked off the list upon completion.
- Facility set-up/preparation for daily activities per the maintenance schedule received from the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.
- Walk through of facility restrooms/kitchens and any other areas to assess and manage critical maintenance needs.
- Evening walk through prior to leaving to check all thermostat AC/Heat controls are at the most economical setting, all lights have been turned off and all exterior doors are locked.
- Movement of furniture/equipment from room to room as needed per request from the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.
- Lighting replacement as needed.
- Assist with setup or take down of seasonal activities as required.
- Watering of grounds/potted plants/flower beds and picking up any fallen limbs/trash on the campus.
- Assist the pre-school with any needs that may arise (clogged toilets, mopping up spills, etc.).
- Perform minor sheetrock repair including spackling and painting.
- Sanitizing of all buildings, furniture, equipment, and classrooms.
- Perform minor plumbing, mechanical, and electrical repairs.
- Minor landscaping work.
- Assembling and disassembling of furniture, cabinets, and equipment.

2. Essential Job Functions
- Tasks performed while walking or standing 90% of the time include, bending, reaching and stretching.
- Work positions include climbing, squatting and reaching in front of the body and overhead, pulling or pushing equipment or supplies.
- Will lift small hand tools weighing less than 25 pounds or may be required to lift trash from waste cans weighing as much as 70+ pounds.
- Lift tables from waist level to approximately shoulder height. Requires lift of 50+ pounds.
- Must be able to move furniture and supplies that could weigh 100+ pounds and lift from floor to waist level desks, chairs, and tables that could weigh 30+ pounds.
- Will be required to perform routine tasks while wearing protective goggles, gloves, masks or other protective gear as deemed necessary.

3. Workflow Management
- Review list of duties from the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. Perform all duties on the list, and check off each item as it is completed. Turn the list into Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.
- Perform other necessary tasks as needed on campus that may not appear on the list.
- Be available to congregation and guests for maintenance needs while activities take place.
- Execute weekly workflow to communicate on a weekly basis with the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.
- Attend occasional meetings with the larger staff of the church.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift

- Maintenance: 1 year (preferred)
