**Role**

The Mechanical Production Supervisor provides leadership for the manufacturing organization and plans, directs, and coordinates the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. This position reports to the Manager, Plant and is located in Niles, IL.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Direct/Manage all aspects of delegated Production Areas (Portable Chiller lines (EQ, PCA, Pre Assy,)
- Review processing schedules of production orders to make decisions concerning staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints
- Identify and address ongoing training requirements for shop floor personnel to assure products produced meet customer expectation
- Coordinate with appropriate functional groups, including Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and others to resolve problems, expedite materials or processes, and determine priorities
- Assure activities within defined scope are accomplished in accordance with IPEG policies, sound business practices, and in a way that promotes an open and creative work environment
- Ensure that all parts, assemblies, and final products are produced on schedule and according to established quality requirements
- Proactively handle personnel issues with support from your Manager and Human Resources
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations

**Requirements**:

- Associate’s Degree in Engineering (or related field) and/or seven (7)+ years of direct work experience without formal education in mechanical assembly in a production environment
- Position typically expects six (6)+ years of direct/relevant experience based on scope of position and in area of supervision with one (1) year of leadership responsibility
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Demonstrate leadership, project management, facilitation, and problem solving skills
- Familiarity with Lean and Continuous Improvement principles
- Ability to function in a team environment
- Must be able to interact within all levels of the company
- Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
- Sound reasoning and decision-making ability; strong analytical skills
