**Summary/objective**:
This individual is responsible for managing all aspects of workers’ compensation claims for all districts, providing timely notification and communication with employees, supervisors, and insurance carrier regarding claims, maintaining OSHA injury/illness logs, assisting in safety training programs, and providing administrative support to the Safety/Workers’ Compensation/Training Manager.

- Establishes and maintains a good rapport with co-workers
- Inspires a safety culture that creates a safe work environment throughout the organization
- Keeps current on changes in the Workers’ Compensation system in California and AZ
- Manages workers’ compensation files for all work injuries in the organization
- Guides, trains and advises management on proper injury investigation techniques and completion of incident report forms
- Receives, reviews and processes all injury reports in a timely manner
- Provides customer service to injured employees
- Establishes and maintains contact with injured employees and provide assistance with claims and obtaining healthcare
- Communicates with current and prior workers’ compensation carriers, management, physicians, and attorneys to provide/gather information as needed to enable appropriate processing of claims
- Assists departments in the determination of appropriate modified duty assignments
- Conducts outreach visits to injured employees and their foreperson
- Maintains OSHA injury/illness logs (300 and 300A)
- Attends claims reviews of open claims with current and past carriers
- Analyzes claims and loss control data to identify injury trends and prevention
- Maintains records using company’s ERP system
- Prepares required and special reports as needed
- Documents translation English/Spanish
- Meeting deadlines with complete accurate work
- Data entry
- This position requires regular driving as an essential job function in overseeing and coordinating various aspects of the Safety process
- Consistent attendance is mandatory
- Other job duties as assigned

**Work environment**:

- Mostly indoor with occasional outdoor work

**Travel required**:

- This position is based in Salinas, CA or optionally, seasonal relocation to Yuma, AZ during the months of November through March

**Required education and experience**:

- High School diploma or combination of equivalent education and experience
- Bilingual and bi-literate in English/Spanish
- Excellent customer service skills on the phone and in person
- Operation of standard office equipment, including personal computers, photocopier, fax machines, and must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Windows.
- Organized team player who works well with a variety of people
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure while managing multiple task
- Ability to keep skill set current
- Valid driver license and clean record

**Preferred education and experience**:

- Workers’ Compensation experience preferred

**Pay range**:

- **$34.00 - $38.00**

Pay: $34.00 - $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
