**Description**:
The Associate Research Scientist will collaborate closely with faculty members, research staff, and partners to conduct innovative research, analyze data, and disseminate findings through publications, presentations, and other forums. The Associate Research Scientist will contribute to interdisciplinary research that aims to advance the wellbeing and rights of children and families globally; and to address complex evolving challenges, including forced migration, conflict, and emerging infectious diseases.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and lead research projects related to forced migration and/or child and adolescent wellbeing.
- Design and implement research protocols, including study design, data collection, and analysis.
- Prepare research findings for publication in peer-reviewed journals and for dissemination through presentations at conferences, seminars, and other forums. Synthesize research findings to inform policy and program responses, effectively communicating with diverse audiences, including policymakers, practitioners, and communities.
- Provide mentorship and supervision to graduate students and student research workers.
- Engage with partners and stakeholders to ensure that research efforts are effective, coordinated and respond to the needs of diverse populations.
- Stay informed of developments in the field of study through literature reviews, attendance at conferences, and participation in professional development activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- A PhD, MD or equivalent degree in public health, medicine, epidemiology, sociology or a related field is required.
- At least 5 years of professional experience.
- Commitment to health equity, social justice, and human rights, particularly for the most marginalized populations.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize and communicate research findings to diverse audiences.
- Strong academic track record, including publication in peer-reviewed journals and/or presentations at conferences related to forced migration, child health, or related fields.
- Demonstrated expertise in qualitative research methods, including study design, data collection, and analysis.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative and interdisciplinary research team.
- Experience managing complex, multi-country or multi-stakeholder research projects.
- Prior experience in grant writing and securing external funding is desirable but not required.
- Experience working in low-resource or humanitarian settings is desirable.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $106,000.00 per year
